"We go in withering July
To ply the hard incessant hoe;
Panting beneath the brazen sky
We sweat and grumble, but we go."
-  Ruth Pitter, The Diehards

Pride month has gone but the prejudice stays and requires intersectional work. From within-community disparities, and phobias about various identities that a person holds, to the lack of diversity and inclusion practices at workplaces. These issues cannot be merely addressed for a month and then swept under the rug until next year. It is starting to become a pattern, a cool social media 'trend' for organizations with changing logos to rainbow colors but leaves room for concrete action.

Hence our responsibility as someone who is part of the community or an ally is to ensure these debates are part of the day to day conversations at work, at home, in our WhatsApp groups, and other spaces of interaction. In times where the whole world has reimagined ways of functioning and is on the path to find a 'new normal', it is imperative that queer voices are louder than ever. We need to be thumping the beats and ensure that our demands for equal rights do not take a back seat. Here is our July in a nutshell.
